If you have fallen victim to scams or fraud, we encourage you to file a report with federal and state agencies. Also, contact law enforcement offices in your local area to report the crime. Filing a report helps agencies educate and equip consumers with the information they need to help prevent falling victim to fraud and scams.

Consumer Alerts are designed to help prevent financial loss or other harm caused by scammers. They are also used to notify Floridians about available refunds, restitution and claims funds resulting from action taken by Attorney General Moody’s Consumer Protection Division.
Scammers know this and may try to exploit the excitement with fraudulent phone calls, text messages and online advertisements promising free, or cheap, vacations. These scammers are casting a wide net to try and trap unwary travelers. More than 130 million tourists visited the state in 2022.

Attorney General Ashley Moody’s resource for Floridians to use for protection against fraud. Scams at a Glance is an outreach program with information about common and emerging scams. The downloadable brochures are designed to teach consumers how to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
