Generally, registrations expire one year from the month issued. The payment of municipal excise (property) taxes is a prerequisite for all motor vehicle registrations. Excise taxes must be paid to your town office prior to registration.
Please contact your local municipal office to find out if they participate in our registration program. Pay 5.5% Maine sales tax on the purchase price of the vehicle. Pay the title application fee ($33.00), if applicable (model year 1995 or newer) Pay the appropriate registration fees based on type of plate selected.
