Trolley Excursions for the 2024 season will begin on Thursday, April 18th. During the operating season, the trolley excursion will depart from the main passenger platform of the Steamtown National Historic Site. Trolley rides are scheduled Thursday to Sunday at 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:30 PM, and 3:00 PM.

Located on the Steamtown National Historic Site grounds, downtown Scranton, in a resplendently restored late 19th-century mill building, the Trolley Museum features interactive exhibits and displays including vintage trolleys. Tickets must be purchased 15 minutes prior trolley ride.
CURRENT RATES. Price and Schedule for the 2024 Season. Museum is open seven (7) day a week 9:00am – 4:00pm. January 2024 thru December 2024. The museum is home to artifacts dating all the way back to 1887, when Scranton opened its first trolley line. The kids will love the hands-on displays about electricity and the giant model trolley set. The museum is open year-round. Check their website for a schedule and special events.

This local museum is right next to the Steamtown National Historic Site, and it’s well worth a walk across the parking lot while you’re there. Scranton was one of the first cities to have an electric trolley system, and this museum shows that history well.
