3 Νοε 2019 · You’ll need to cut and weld together steel box sections to make the frame, steel plate to make the firebox, and steel tube to make the chimney. There is also some reasonably complicated metalwork needed to fit all the parts together and make sure there are no leaks and that the airflow correctly circulates the smoke in the cooking chamber.
13 Ιουν 2020 · The fire box could be made smaller, preferrably by building a box inside that box. That will get you an insulated fire box, and also decrease size a bit. I would use a smoke stack that is 15 cm in diameter, and 1.2 meters long.
Finding a large piece of steel pipe or a smaller fuel tank is the easiest way to build a firebox but I chose to fabricate my own box so I could insulate it and get the exact size I wanted. For this firebox I used ¼" thick steel plate for the interior box and 14 gauge steel for the exterior skin covering the insulation.

The fire basket is made from 3/4" #9 flattened expanded steel sheet and wired together. Some angle steel was placed on the bottom of the smoker so air could flow under the fire and the ash has a place to collect.
