David Guzik commentary on Revelation 3 continues the letters Jesus wrote to the seven churches: Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.

Whatever there was of religion among them, it was of importance to strengthen it, that the love of the Saviour might not become wholly extinct.
Strengthen the things which remain — The convictions and good desires, with any measure of the fear of God and of a tender conscience, which, although still subsisting, are about to perish, because the Holy Spirit, who is the author of them, being repeatedly grieved, is about finally to depart.
The climax of the promises made to the seven Churches (cf. Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26-28; Revelation 3:5, 12). There are two points to be noticed in this promise: (1) the position promised to the conqueror, "in my throne;" (2) the two thrones mentioned.
In response to this hardship, Jesus reassures them that His return will happen suddenly, and they will be rewarded for their faith (Revelation 3:7–13). Laodicea has the unfortunate distinction of being the only church which receives no positive commentary, whatsoever.
