A change of seasons is all around us this week, vibrant colors abound, the mornings have a little more chill in them, and anglers are enjoying fishing across Maryland.

17 Οκτ 2024 · State waters fisheries for Atlantic striped bass are currently managed under Amendment 7 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan (FMP). Interested individuals are encouraged to visit the comm ission's website to learn more on the complexities of this coastwide fishery.
7 Οκτ 2015 · There should be good flounder fishing on the inshore wreck and reef sites. Boats fishing the canyons were bringing double digit catches of yellowfin tuna to the docks along with a mix of bigeye tuna and white marlin releases before the blow. Hopefully this will continue.
The striped bass population rebounded from the 1970s decline, but in 2019 it was found that striped bass again were overfished, with particular concern regarding “dead discards”, or fish that die after catch and release. One assessment estimated that in 2017, 3.4 million striped bass died after being caught and handled by anglers.
