In Malaysia, the prospect of a forced return has touched off two riots in the last six months in the Sungai Besi camp in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. In the last of these, on Jan. 18, one Vietnamese was killed and 24 people, including seven police officers, were hurt.

Our under roof space was right next to the church and towards camp boundary fence. Unlike demountable, we only have floor space to sit and eat/sleep on, no beds. Our family stayed on the island for six weeks, then three and half months in Sungai Besi camp on the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur.
