This is a super rare and vintage guitar. Takamine began in 1959 as a small family-run guitar shop nestled at the foot of Mount Takamine in the central Japanese town of Sakashita. The company took the mountain’s name in 1962.
Its considered to be a major brand of steel-string acoustic guitars worldwide. The company was founded in 1959, being renamed as "Takamine Gakki Ltd." in 1962. In 1978 they were one of the first companies to introduce acoustic-electric models, where they pioneered the design of the preamplifier-equalizer component. [1]
22 Φεβ 2022 · As part of this, I went through and researched as many Takamine model numbers (1970's era) as I could and noted what guitar they were based on and what the wood features were. Since I couldn't find it anywhere else, I thought I'd share it here.
