You can extend the life of any tattoo with proper skin care and sun protection but the reality is that they fade over time. It's best to go big and go bold. Solid, thick, heavy lines, lots of black, lots of contrast - that's what stands the test of time. Ideally, a well done tattoo should never require a touch up; even after decades have past.
