QQQ, SPY, SPX, etc trade until 4:15pm Eastern to allow for people to hedging. The SPX opens back up at 2am and closes at 9:15am. TD Ameritrade doesn't allow trades during the 2am to 9:15am session that the SPX and VIX currently trade. Interactive Brokers does allow trading during these times.

17 Οκτ 2024 · Can I trade options after hours on td ameritrade? Yes, but this doesn’t apply to options on all the securities that are available during regular hours. Just like with any other broker, you should check if the securities you’re interested in are available after hours on TD Ameritrade before making any plans.
As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the regular trading hours for SPX options on the CBOE are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time. Some SPX options also trade in extended hours. Do SPX options expire worthless?
SPX and VIX options trade after hours, between 2am and 815am ct. Unfortunately TOS doesn't allow trading access to this session, although you can see the quotes. The only retail broker that I know of that allows trading access to this session is Interactive Brokers.
