A Filing Document Name refers to the type of filing (e.g. answer, demurrer, motion, etc.) and is used by the EFSP to properly designate the document(s) upon submission. Using the correct Filing Document Name is extremely important as it determines the appropriate fee and court workflow.
Effective September 19, 2022, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will implement mandatory efiling for all adoptions documents as well as abandonment and emancipation documents filed by litigants and/or agencies represented by attorneys.
Filing parties may view documents submitted immediately through their electronic filing service provider’s (EFSP’s) portal. All other parties will be able to view a document upon acceptance by the Court from the internet or on public terminals located at any Los Angeles County courthouse.

As of October 21, 2024 Journal Technologies will be increasing our eFiling Service Provider per-use fee to $9.45 plus the 2.75% credit card fee. This site allows you to electronically file documents in limited and unlimited civil actions to the Los Angeles Superior Court.
