The album does have Vegas-like pop hooks and rhythms floating inconclusively through the songs. But that just makes the proceedings — with singer Liz Fraser’s pillowy voice swaddled in echo — sound even more appealing.
Heaven or Las Vegas is the sixth studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Cocteau Twins. It was released on 17 September 1990 by 4AD. It is the band's second major-label release, following Blue Bell Knoll in 1988.
I thought I knew how great they were but needless to say, when I got to Heaven or Las Vegas I was just totally blown out of the solar system. Songs like Pitch the Baby and Fifty-Fifty Clown are transcendent.
