In Nepal, people are already experiencing the consequences of climate change: their lives are marked by unexpected floods and landslides as well as an increase in droughts. What can be done? That’s what children and young people asked themselves in the Blue Schools set up by Terre des hommes and its local partner.
Terre des hommes Nepal (Tdh) Tdh deals with dramatic increase in child migration, human trafficking and exploitation. It also helps to improve community health facilities, water and sanitation systems, schools and the child protection system which are largely dysfunctional.
Terre des hommes is active in Asia in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Despite rapid economic growth, the region remains home to around two thirds of the world’s poor. Child labour, child marriage, and trafficking continue to deprive children of their rights.
