To be eligible for VLB loan programs, Veterans and Military Members must be: At least 18 years of age. A bona fide and legal resident of Texas on the date of application and meet one of the following service criteria: An active duty Military Member. A member of the Texas National Guard.
Benefits you have earned as a Texas Veteran or Military Member: In 1946 the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) was established to administer benefits exclusively for Texas Veterans. Since then, the VLB has funded more than 200,000 loans for Veterans and Military Members in Texas.
The VLB Veterans Land Loan Program is the only one of its kind in the country—giving Texas Veterans the opportunity to borrow money to purchase land at below-market interest rates while only requiring a minimum 5% down payment.
11 Νοε 2022 · The Texas Veteran Land Board (VLB) administers a land program designed to help currently serving military, veterans, and qualifying surviving spouses the ability to buy land using loans with “competitive interest rates” and low down payment requirements (five percent down for an acre or more).
Review VLB home loan terms and conditions online. Ensure eligibility and residency requirements are met. Gather bank and income statements, IRS filings, DD214 and other financial documents. Pick a VLB participating lender by county to get pre-qualified for a home loan up to $766,550.
A Veteran or Military Member whose bid is accepted may apply for a VLB Land Loan at a 7.25% interest rate, with a 30-year term and minimum 5% down payment. The VLB will only finance up to 95% of the minimum bid or $150,000 whichever is less.
