Submit the completed application for a replacement license plate(s) and/or registration sticker to your local county tax assessor- collector’s office. Replacement fee is $6 plus 50 cents automation fee (total $6.50).

Order your specialized license plates at any Harris County Tax Office. Click on the Specialized License Plates link above to visit the TxDMV website where you can see the variety of plates offered and the fees charged for each.
If your license plates and/or stickers have been lost, stolen, or destroyed—or if your plates are due for replacement—you will need to replace them in person at your local tax assessor-collector's office.
Whenever you need to replace your license plates due to damage, loss of reflectivity or theft, you pay a $6.50 replacement fee to record your new plate number in the state’s motor vehicle database and issue you a new registration sticker, which shows your license plate number and county of residence along with your registration expiration date.
