All nurses are required to renew their licenses on a biennial basis with evidence of required continuing nursing education. The BON licenses qualified registered nurses to enter practice as advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), including nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and nurse midwives.
Employability Status Check Search. This search will return consolidated results from HHS' Nurse Aide Registry, Medication Aide Registry and Employee Misconduct Registry. Results will include subject's status on the individual registries and determination if this status makes the subject unemployable in a regulated facility/agency.
On the Texas Nurse Portal log-in page, enter the email address and password under the “Already have an account?” heading. After logging in, click the “Manage Profile” link on the left-hand side of the screen below your name.
The new paperless system is completely online. All applicants and licensees can apply for an initial license or renew a license 60 days prior to their expiration date. The system requires applicants to register and create an account with the Board through the Texas Nurse Portal.
It will be necessary to access the nurse portal for renewal, name changes, password changes, address changes, email changes, licensure by endorsement, licensure by examination, multistate conversion and employment information.
