A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations.
The Chaos Gods aren't specifically good or bad and aren't even "intelligent" in the way we might understand the term. They're fractured strange sentient life forms that exist in a realm where emotion and consciousness governs the nature of existence, not physics or causality.
Nurgle is a god of survival but it's in the most extreme way possible: a complete lack of entropy and change, eternal life because you rot and spoil but cannot die. Khorne is the god of honour, but honour taken to extremes can justify any atrocity in its pursuit.
