The very first rule confirms that. Once your name is written, you are dead. Its true that you cant use other people to kill others, thats why the safest way to prevent that is via heart attack. But there is also a rule that states that with the death note sometimes others lifes are indirecly shortened or lengthened.
14 Αυγ 2018 · Death Note comes to a confusing end as it segues into a climatic meeting between Light and Mia. The latter manages to blackmail Light into giving her his Death Noteby writing the boy’s name in it.
The most notable and controversial change is in the ending, in which L beats Light before any of the Near/Mello arc takes place. In my opinion, this results in a conclusive and powerful resolution which felt to me to be more justified and less contrived than the Yellow Box faceoff.
But finally, after an hour and 45 mins, we get the end scene where he explains everything about how he survived and had the death note returned to him. That is the Light we should've seen from the beginning of the movie.
