In the emotional, really hard to watch type of way. Very well written though. A battered woman becomes mentally ill, can’t afford her medication, hallucinates her husband trying to break in and kill her children, and has them jump out the window, genuinely thinking she’s saving them.

You would catch a random episode at a time on TV. There was no expectation of watching every single episode. Even a fan of the show might wind up catching it once every two weeks. In the modern era, streaming series are set up so each season is a meal and each episode is just one course.
If you're looking for a place to stream from Canada, the entire series is now on Amazon Prime. I'm so excited to not have to change DVDs every 4 episodes during my binge. Starting from season 1, laughing as med student Carter yells "CLEAR!!" to shock a patient when he's all by himself.
ER and NYPD Blue are the last 2 shows of old TV with West Wing and Sopranos being the first two of new TV. I have not watched many traditional OTA network dramas since ER went of the air. Reply reply

Yes! ER might be my favourite show of all time. The first handful of seasons are amazing. It definitely drops in quality after season 8 but it picks up again in the last couple seasons. In my opinion 11-13 are the worst. Even if you can't stick it out through the rest, you will get at least 8 seasons of quality TV. Enjoy!
