25 Απρ 2024 · The “Meta Important Notice” phishing scam exploits fears about account suspension by impersonating Meta and sending fake warnings. Scammers use convincing tactics to dupe you into providing your Facebook or Instagram login details under the guise of avoiding deactivation.
If someone contacts you saying they're from Meta, you can confirm if the representative is actually affiliated with Meta by checking their email address. Remember, Meta representatives will never ask you for your password, payment details, or other sensitive information over chat, text, email or phone.
If an email or Facebook message looks strange, don't open it or any attachments. Instead, report it to phish@fb.com or through the report links that appear throughout Facebook. If you’re a business, go to Business Support Home to help verify if there are any issues with your business accounts.
