Automatically download The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection with Sims2RPC & fixes via GitHub; Automates Touchup/install process based on the install directory
Download the 4GB patch tool here. Once downloaded, put it in a file folder for later use (it can be used for other games). Run the exe. Search for your sims file inside the “Mansion and Garden” folder. You should now be able to play The Sims 2.

Windows 10 users will have to install DirectX 9c, which I think it's included with the download. If you want to play at higher resolutions, you'll have to use THIS TOOL . Make sure to select in Max Resolution your display's native resolution to avoid any issues.
How to play on Windows. Download and Extract The_Sims_2_Win_ISO_EN.zip. Mount The Sims 2.iso – if you don’t know how to mount files, refer to this article: https://oldgamesdownload.com/wiki/install-games-on-windows/. Open the mounted file and run “setup.exe”.
This is a repack of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and includes almost all game’s expansion and stuff packs (important: a few packs are missing such as IKEA Home Stuff. You can download and install these packs separately.)
