I love the sims 2 animations, and I would adore a mod which adds older animations. Unfortunately, the file format for animations in TS2 was never fully decoded. The only way to get sims 2 animations for sims 4 is to hope EA reused them in Sims 3, which you can convert just fine.

Animation Mods. If you are anything like me, finding the best animation mods that work for the story you are trying to tell. I went through several sights to find the best animation mods for Sims 4. The animations I found were for couples, families, or a single person.

Download the 4GB patch tool here. Once downloaded, put it in a file folder for later use (it can be used for other games). Run the exe. Search for your sims file inside the “Mansion and Garden” folder. You should now be able to play The Sims 2.
