The Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program provides treatment for children aged 4-18 who have unique life experiences that require enhanced patience, structure and an understanding of each child’s individual needs.
The therapeutic foster parent assists Contractor staff in the development and review of treatment plans for each resident or youth in their care. Therapeutic foster parents contribute vital input based upon their observations of the resident in the natual environment of the treatment home.
TFI offers Therapeutic Foster Care and outpatient counseling services to Oklahoma children and families. If you are interested in becoming a therapeutic foster parent, additional training will be required and provided by TFI.
Therapeutic Foster Care for children is approved by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Children in EFC remain in their current kinship or traditional foster home and receive services there. In Therapeutic Foster Care, children move into those homes if approved for that level of care.
