You may spend a week in the hospital after your thoracic surgery. But if you had minimally invasive surgery, you may need only three or four days to recover.
The delay between drainage of the infected cavity and thoracoplasty ranged from 8 days to 20 months (median, 97 days). An extramusculoperiosteal thoracoplasty was performed in 22 patients (85%) after OWT (Figs 2, 3), intercostal drainage, and cavernostomy in 16, 4, and 2 patients, respectively.
