Building & Safety. The Building Department is responsible for enforcing the California construction and energy codes by reviewing building plans and issuing for any construction and demolition that takes place within the Town. Most projects require a permit.

Scheduling an Inspection. All inspections are scheduled online through eTrakit. Inspection card and any town-stamped plans are required to be on-site for all inspections. To schedule you must be logged into eTrakit and the permit must be in "Issued" status.
Most construction requires a building permit to be obtained prior to the start of work. If you are unsure, please see the Do I Need a Permit? page. Some small permits may be issued "Over the Counter." All other permits require a plan check, in which the Town's departments will review your plans for code compliance.
