You guys really need to sit in both to compare and it's not the same! It's Luxury vs. Economy. I can see as far as size and some of the parts, but there is no comparison.
Toyota 4Runner Vibrations. brock1313 Member Posts: 3. August 2006 edited July 2016. I have a 2002 4Runner that has recently developed a vibration at freeway speeds. I purchased new tires about two months before the vibration started. I have been back to the place where I bought my tires and the assure me that they are balanced.
One other thing to note: these cars are within inches of external dimensions, but the interior of the 4Runner feels like a cockpit while the interior of the Pathfinder is more like a Lazy-Boy chair. The 4Runner feels and drives smaller than it is, while the Pathfinder feels bigger than it really is. Go figure.
I am new to this forum and need some help. We have just ordered a horse trailer. I have a 2002 Toyota 4Runner 6 cyl. 2 wheel drive. We have had a class III hitch installed rated 5000lbs., which is our maximum towing capacity. We plan on having a transmission cooler and a trailer braking system installed this week.
My 4Runner shows rust spots on the frame, under the car. I am concerned and will address it at my next maintenance at Toyota. So check your 4runners, just because it's newer model, you just never know. My 4 year old CRV is rust free, so I am surprised why 4Runner would be rusting so soon, definitely a problem for a $33K car...
Seems that Toyota is pushing the 2001 4 Runners with incentives, and according to Edmunds, one can be had for about $500 over invoice. The Highlander on the other hand is going around $2000 over invoice. Drove the Highlander and didn't care for the captain's chairs, will be driving a 4 Runner today. The "obvious" choice would seem to be 4 Runner.
