The Four Frameworks of Traditional Mentoring Almost all undergraduate peer mentoring programs in the United States are grounded in one of four general mentoring frameworks, which I call “traditional” mentoring programs (Smith, 2013, p. 56; Gershenfeld, 2014, p. 366).
