Most guides I’ve seen are saying that ring bling is crucial to unlock for slayer grinds but I don’t find myself using rings at all. I use Duradel and do all tasks I can in catacombs. Are there any other reasons to unlock this?
Make sure you bring a New key from the Mourning's End Part II quest so you can open the door from the inside and run away a bit if you need to re-aggro them. (it can be put on a Steel key ring). If you don't have it banked or on your key ring, a new one can be found on the desk in the south-east room of the basement.
