Five to 15 drops should be instilled in the ear twice daily. In treating dermatoses affecting locations other than the ear, the surface of the lesions should be well moistened (2 to 4 drops per square inch) with TRESADERM solution twice daily.

My cat recently went to the cat for some ear issues and was given tresaderm to use twice a day for 7 days. She has had 2 doses of the drops and has since stopped scratching at her ear and tilting it to the side.
Therapy is with topical ivermectin in the ear (1:9 dilution of injectable 10 mg/ml in mineral oil or propylene glycol; every other day), systemic ivermectin (0.3 mg/kg PO eod) or topical Tresaderm (Merial; q 24 hrs or BID) or amitraz (1 ml of 20% product in 30 ml mineral oil; eod).
