Detect future risk of T1D and advance important research! TrialNet is an international network of leading academic institutions, endocrinologists, physicians, scientists and healthcare teams at the forefront of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
TrialNet is an international consortium of centers dedicated to the study, prevention, and early detection and treatment of type 1 diabetes. Researchers are part of a larger network called Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet.
The University of Florida (UF) is one of seventeen Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet International Clinical Centers at the forefront of type 1 diabetes research. Led by Michael Haller, MD, the TrialNet team at UF is dedicated to preventing type 1 diabetes and stopping disease progression by preserving insulin production before and after diagnosis.
TrialNet at UF researches have screened nearly 3,500 participants in this study, with the hopes of reducing complications and helping countless others at risk for type 1 diabetes. Visit the TrialNet at UF website. Most cases of insulin-dependent diabetes are discovered only when symptoms appear.

The Pathway to Prevention screening is the first step for all TrialNet prevention studies. Screening is offered free to relatives of people with T1D to evaluate their risk of developing the disease. This unique screening can identify the early stages of T1D years before any symptoms appear.
