12 Ιουλ 2021 · In the Bach 7C mouthpiece the “7” refers to the rim diameter, or inner diameter, and the “C” refers to the cup depth, or cup volume. Lower numbers and earlier letters in the alphabet represent larger sizes.
If you find the 7C trumpet mouthpiece a little too big for you, or you have thinner lips, consider the 10 1/2C. It has a slightly smaller rim diameter of 15.90 millimeters than the 7C and a medium cup.
For Bach mouthpieces, lower numbers mean a larger rim diameter. So a 3C has a larger rim diameter than a 7C. Your 7C is larger than your 10C. Cup depths are measured in A-F (there may be some fringe stuff like V cup, X cup, but those are pretty rare). A is deeper than B, which is deeper than C, etc...
