Overblot is a form taken by those who overuse their magic and let their negative emotions "blot" their magic wands. Their aura and appearance is mostly dark. Moreover, an entity appears alongside them, having a stitched-together body and head of glass leaking ink.
How I'm understanding overblot is that if a person used magic a lot and has a lot of negative emotions, they overblot. In chapter 2, though, Leona doesn't really use magic. Ruggie does. And it seems like Ruggie has a lot of negative emotions, too. Mainly anxiety about working under Leona. So why did Leona overblot and not Ruggie?
