This paper focuses on the possibility of combining automatic identification system (AIS) data with HFSWR data for vessel detection and classification purposes. Three algorithms for target detection in compound Gaussian HF sea clutter are presented and their performance evaluated.
The Tyrrhenian Sea is situated near where the African and Eurasian Plates meet; therefore mountain chains and active volcanoes, such as Mount Marsili, are found in its depths. The eight Aeolian Islands and Ustica are located in the southern part of the sea, north of Sicily .
16 Ιουλ 2010 · The concurrent exploitation of AIS and HFSWR data is presented and discussed by means of real data recorded during the NURC experiment in the northern Tyrrhenian Sea in May 2009. Discover the...
17 Ιουν 2021 · Introduction. The coastal areas of the Tyrrhenian Sea—the main Italian sea, TYS hereafter—host delicate environments that are under pressure deriving from climate change and from the impacts of human activities.
This chapter aims at gaining new insights on the surface and intermediate dynamics of the Tyrrhenian Sea (TYS), through the analysis of the results produced in the first year of life of an operational, high-resolution model of the TYS circulation.
1 Δεκ 2018 · The Tyrrhenian Sea is a triangular land-locked extensional basin that formed between Tortonian and Quaternary at the rear of the Neogene Apennines-Maghrebide thrust belt (e.g. Sartori, 1989, Patacca et al., 1990).
3 Ιουν 2021 · This sea hosts delicate coastal and marine ecosystems, and is characterized by rich dynamics, both driven by the interaction of the local forcing with the complex morphology and bathymetry of...
