There are plenty of good reasons to choose the SD version. For example, if you buy a lot of movies you will need a LOT more storage space for HD versions of movies (a SD version of a movie might be about 1.5GB while the HD version would be about 3.5GB).
HDX is a hi-definition (HD) format developed by Vudu that allows streaming video at a better quality than HD streams from other providers like Amazon Instant Video, Google Play and iTunes. HDX video is streamed at 1080p and 24 frames per second.
UHD is Ultra HD, with a resolution of 4K. Overall, UHD will usually be better than HDX if you have a 4K TV and 4K capable streaming device. I been doing some research and it seems that most people say on vudu hdx is better than uhd.
My guess is that Disney is only releasing an HD version to Vudu so that Disney+ can have the exclusive 4K version for some time. When that exclusivity ends, the Vudu version will get upgraded to the 4K version.
