In the fall of 2017, the KU School of Medicine launched its innovative new curriculum: Active -> Competency-Based -> Excellence-Driven (ACE). The ACE curriculum’s block structure systematically introduces topics with progressive complexity of foundational and clinical content through the four years.
Curriculum. The University of Kansas School of Medicine provides an innovative curriculum that combines intensive instruction in the basic sciences with hands-on patient-based clinical training.
The degree of Doctor of Medicine is awarded by the medical faculty of the University of Kansas to a student who has satisfactorily completed the medical school curriculum. The student must also pass Steps 1 and 2 (Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills) of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
