- Pre-Pharmacy Requirements
The UAMS College of Pharmacy requires 60 semester hours of prerequisite coursework from a US-accredited institution to apply for the PharmD program. Applicants may apply prior to completing prerequisites, but they should be complete by the end of the spring semester prior to fall entry.

The curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing requires the completion of 58 semester hours of required general education courses, which may be completed at any regionally accredited college or university.
This timeline includes pre-pharmacy course requirements for admission to most Texas and U. S. pharmacy schools. Completing the pre-pharmacy courses and extracurricular activities generally requires six semesters or longer, regardless of the student’s age or year in college.
Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program applicants are required to have obtained an undergraduate degree or higher. Applications for fall 2024 admission to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program will open on October 1. This applies to both the accelerated and traditional degree programs.
