All electronic filers must register for CM/ECF Electronic Case Filing system (ECF) through PACER using an individual PACER account. Filing requests will not be approved until all requirements have been met.
Attorneys are required to complete mandatory ECF training before being issued an ECF account in this court. However, attorneys who possess an active ECF account in at least one other Bankruptcy court may file a training waiver. Registration documents may be found here: https://www.ilcb.uscourts.
You may continue to log in and perform other activities (e.g., e-file, request filing privileges), but you will not have PACER search privileges.
Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) is the federal Judiciary's system that allows case documents, such as pleadings, motions, and petitions, to be filed with the court online. CM/ECF is most often used by attorneys in cases, U.S. Trustees, and bankruptcy trustees.
The United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois now allows attorneys to open civil cases online via our Case Management Electronic Case Filing (CMECF) System.
