Lincoln Riley has served as head coach of the Trojans since 2022. The USC Trojans college football team represents the University of Southern California (USC) in the Pac-12 Conference (Pac-12). The Trojans compete as part of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision.

The 2016 USC Trojans football season marked Clay Helton's first full season as USC head coach. The team finished the season 10–3, (7–2 Pac-12), finishing as the runner-up of the South Division title and as Rose Bowl champions.
