27 Αυγ 2010 · To create a Windows Service from an executable, you can use sc.exe: sc.exe create <new_service_name> binPath= "<path_to_the_service_executable>". You must have quotation marks around the actual exe path, and a space after the binPath=. More information on the sc command can be found in Microsoft KB251192.
There's nothing wrong with using Windows 7 as an app server if the performance envelope of the OS is adequate for the app and you have sized your app appropriately. For example, I've got a few systems out there that run Windows 7 as the backend for point of sale software.
