23 Φεβ 2024 · VA disability ratings represent the degree of impairment or disability a veteran experiences as a result of service-connected injuries or illnesses. The ratings are assigned on a scale from 0% to 100% in increments of 10%, with higher ratings indicating a more severe disability.

VA automatically presumes that certain disabilities were caused by military service. This is because of the unique circumstances of a specific Veteran’s military service. If a presumed condition is diagnosed in a Veteran within a certain group, they can be awarded disability compensation.
