Veterans of the United States (U.S.) Armed Forces may be eligible for a broad range of benefits and services provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). These benefits are codified in Title 38 of the United States Code (U.S.C.). This booklet contains overviews of the most commonly sought
guidelines, recommendations, and illustrations to assist the physically handicapped veteran or servicemember and the architect/designer to construct or remodel a home grant.
An eligible veteran or servicemember may receive a VA grant of not more than 50 percent of the cost of a specially adapted house, up to the aggregate maximum amount allowable by law. The current maximum grant amount allowable at the time of this publication is $63,780.
