7 Μαΐ 2024 · Cheating in game by using auto-clickers, aimbots, and other unauthorized hardware or software that gives players an unfair advantage in game will get that player’s account permanently banned. Queuing with cheaters will get those players banned for 180 days .
My understanding is that the vast majority of bans happens in waves so that cheat devs can't do things like test which specific things are detected in a live match. I'm guessing only the older or really blatant cheats get banned mid-match.

my match was terminated. all my friends got “cheater detected” screen. i got “you have been banned for game modification or third party software” or something like that. i have never cheated before. i check my account and i’m banned for ONLY ONE DAY says i will be unbanned on x date. so not really a ban just a suspension
Cheaters only get banned mid game if Vanguard can already detect the cheat. If not, once it becomes known to Riot, they will be banned in a big wave. They do this to make it harder for cheat makers to patch their clients.

20 Σεπ 2024 · If we banned cheaters immediately, all a cheat developer would have to do is change their cheat, get a new account (reminder to please secure your account), and see if they get banned. Rinse and repeat.
