You may not be able to tolerate certain drugs, or they may be unsafe for you to take. Moreover, osteoporosis medications differ in their delivery method and dosing schedules.
This article will review the pathophysiology, etiology, screening, and diagnosis of osteoporosis; selected professional guidelines and recommendations; nonpharmacological management; pharmacological options; and the cost-effectiveness of those options.

Intravenous infusion in 100 mL in at least 15 min, requires eGFR >30–35 mL/min, ensure vitamin D-replete before infusion. Self-limited acute phase response (“flu-like illness”) in 30–40% of patients after first dose; too few reports of AFF and ONJ to estimate incidence.
