Final Update (2:46pm): The remaining affected reservations have been fixed. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact vcl_help@ncsu.edu for support. Update (1:45pm): The core problem causing this issue has been identified and resolved. Most things are back to normal. There are still a few reservations staff are manually fixing.
The Virtual Computing Laboratory (VCL) is a service that allows you to reserve a computer with a desired set of applications for yourself, and remotely access it over the Internet via your personal computer.
NCSU provides a remote access service that allows you to reserve a computer with a desired set of applications for yourself, and remotely access it over the Internet. This service is powered by the Apache Software Foundation's Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) software.
The following steps describe how to create a new VCL reservation: On the main page, click Make a Reservation or Reservations at the top of the page. If you are not already authenticated, you will be presented with a login screen. Select your affiliation and proceed to log in. Once authenticated, you will be presented with the Reservations page.
Go to http://vcl.ncsu.edu. Select Make a Reservation. If you have not already authenticated via WRAP, you’ll be prompted to do so. Under New Reservation, select Linux Lab Machine (Realm RHEnterprise 6). Select either Now or Later. Select Create Reservation. The Current Reservations screen will show your
https://vcl.ncsu.edu/scheduling/index.php?mode=selectauth&clearselection=1. I logged out and forgot my password to the VCL connection. How do I look it up? Revisit the VCL website: Click on Reservations; Click on the Connect! button; Your connection details will be displayed.
