3 Δεκ 2021 · I was running the Free version, but VCV Pro wont install (from inside the VCV FREE to VCV FREE 2, thats the first update will not work), so i uninstall the free Version at all.

Rack 2 comes in two variants: Free (open-source): Standalone application. Pro ($149 regular price, $99 until 2022): Standalone, VST2, more plugin formats coming soon.
VCV Rack is far from the only modular synth that runs in a computer. Offerings range from Csound and Pd, which are both powerful and free but not user-friendly, to Native Instruments Reaktor, which is very deep, but you’ll probably just use the stellar preconfigured instruments it ships with.
