Some devs, like NYSTHI and Alright Devices (Chronoblob2) still have their plugins in beta and haven't made it into the VCV Rack library yet for Rack 2. But there are many in the library already. Rack 2 installs separately to Rack 1, so you can have both installed.

1 Δεκ 2021 · Two versions are available: VCV Rack 2 is a free download and runs as a standalone, open-source app on macOS, Windows, and Linux. VCV Rack 2 Pro comes with plugin (VST2, more later) and professional support for an introductory price of $99 (reg $14) until 2022.
First, it’s free (though certain options are paid). Second, it’s supported by several dozen third-party developers who offer free modules, some of them incredibly useful, as add-ons. Third, if you’re willing to part with $99 for the Pro version, VCV 2.0 will run (either now or soon) as a VST instrument or effect in your favorite DAW.
1 Δεκ 2021 · It is finally there! There is a commercial version now which’s distinctive feature over the free version is that it works as a VST plugin inside various DAWs. But there are many other convenient changes that are also available in the free open source version again.
