Riverside County is under the jurisdiction of multiple agencies which provide vector control services and vector-borne disease surveillance. The Riverside County Vector Control provides services to mid-western Riverside County and the Palo Verde Valley area outside the city limits of Blythe.
The Riverside County Vector Control Program conducts Mosquito population studies throughout the year. Encephalitis virus surveillance traps or CO2 traps have been stationed in the western portion of Riverside County and in the unincorporated areas around the City of Blythe.
