The Riverside County Vector Control provides services to mid-western Riverside County and the Palo Verde Valley area outside the city limits of Blythe. - Mosquito Surveillance and Treatment
The Riverside County Vector Control Program conducts Mosquito population studies throughout the year. Encephalitis virus surveillance traps or CO2 traps have been stationed in the western portion of Riverside County and in the unincorporated areas around the City of Blythe.
Starting July 1, 2013, the Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District will provide vector control services with environmentally safe approaches to address mosquitoes, Africanized bees, rats, rodents, and other vectors.
Application Activities. In an effort to lower the number of mosquitoes and reduce the risk of disease transmission to people by infected mosquitoes, the District treats areas with elevated virus activity. These wide-area applications are typically conducted by air or by truck. Scheduled applications are posted here.
