Vogel State Park in the North Georgia Mountains in Blairsville offers a 22-acre lake, multiple hiking trails & a museum, plus cottages & campsites. There are so many amazing parks in the southeast, but this one should be on your list of places to visit soon.
We stopped at Vogel State Park randomly just to check it out after visiting Helton Creek Falls. $5 entry per vehicle gives you access to swimming, hiking, kayaking, fishing and much more. We were content to let the little kids swim while we sat at one of the many shaded picnic tables and had a couple drinks.

There are plenty of Vogel State Park camping and cabin options available for every budget, ranging from a pioneer campground to charming (and affordable) cottages.
Absolutely gorgeous state park with fantastic campsites and opportunities for outdoor activities for families. The full hookup sites with WiFi were large and our site backed up right on the creek. The play areas are up kept for children and the trails are well maintained.
