  2. 27 Αυγ 2003 · The winter mode lets you start in slippery surface without losing traction. Basically, the car will start at 2nd gear (the fact that 2nd gear has less torque). You'll notice that the car will start sluggish, but on a slippery surface, it helps to the whell to get rolling.

  5. 22 Δεκ 2008 · The W-mode becomes inactive when the engine is shut off, so driving in W constantly would require engaging it every time the car is started--unlikely but possible. I use it rarely, just a few times a winter. It can make a difference when intersections are icy or when grinding up slippery grades.

  7. 1 Νοε 2011 · Winter mode will start the car off in 3rd gear. Do not use it. Its very, very hard on the transmissions. Sport will make your transmission drop gears much more easily when you quickly depress the gas pedal. Econ will usually take flooring it to drop down 2 gears.
